For where two or three gathered in my name, there am I with them”

Our Prayer Circle seeks God’s vision, guidance and will for our church and also to become more dependent on Him in our individual and family lives, respectively. We would like to keep in our prayers those who are sick, suffering, hospitalized or have spiritual needs and requests for God.

The Prayer Circle  has chosen a topic for each day's prayer as follows:

Monday:         Pastor

Tuesday:         Leadership and all those who serve VCC faithfully

Wednesday:    Membership

Thursday:       Music and Choir

Friday:            Church Programs

Saturday:        Outreach

Sunday:          International - those who are persecuted

The next monthly Prayer Circle takes place on 6 October at the VCC Meeting Point at 2PM/14:00. Sita Weinrich is coordinating the Prayer Circle until Eeva Vähäsarja returns in the Autumn.  In the intervening time, all requests and communication should be sent to:  prayer@viennacommunitychurch.com

Ronan Le Bras is the new Host of Bible+.

NEXT MEETING: OCTOBER 15 Refreshments will be served from 18:30 and the lecture will start at 19:00. At the VCC Metting Point.

Guest Speaker, Pastor Tom.

Bible+ explores themes in the areas of theology, philosophy and science as they relate to our faith.

Our Current Series explores The Gospels. Their formation, literature,  and understanding not only of the intent but the audience that received them.

We will be examining each Gospel to understand what materials are included and the way the story of Jesus is told. There will be a continuous discernment as to the Communities of Faith each was written to and why they would need the story told as it was. The concept of taking each Gospel as a unit unto itself will be an important part of our understanding. This class is designed to respect the integrity of God's gift to humanity and the guidance of the Holy Spirit for each Community of Faith as they received their Gospel.

Film & Co (previously Film Night) is held every month under the auspices of the VCC Circle of Music, Art & Film, hosted by VCC members Maurine Mellinger and Mickela Moore. Film & Co features entertainting, as well as arthouse and thought-provoking films.

We would like others to take the initiative to host interesting cultural events. If you are a film buff or cultural denizen and would like to help out on Film & Co or organise and host a cultural event, please contact Mickela or Maurine.

The  College & Career Group meets up at the VCC Meeting Point every Thursday evening at 7PM. The weekly Thursday meetings of the College & Career Group alternate between Bible Study and a relaxed meal together or other planned activity.

Join us for dinner and Bible study - free from formality. Fun, discussions and fellowship!

The C&C will be hosting a Welcome Back dinner. If you are interested in the C&C or would like to attend the Welcome Back dinner, please contact Alice Wanner.

A Short Note from your Editor:

Dear Readers,

These days I am thinking a lot about transformation. Perhaps because we are moving from Summer to Autumn and the trees and plants are changing from glorious green and colorful blossoms, to the deep shades of Autumn and cooler temperatures. I am reflecting on the seasons of life, and how God created us to adapt to all kinds of change and grow during the process. And I'm taking note of the things, both big and small, that God has worked on in my life this season. Reflecting on what he has taught me and feeling grateful for where he is leading me.

As you move into the next season of 2019, I hope you take time to look at the work God is doing in your life and give thanks for his steadfast love. Share his love with others and be prepared for the wonderful transformations ahead.

My heart is full, I pray yours is too.

In his love,

Nichole
