Yoga is not just a sport to help you keep fit; it is a way of Life. It promotes better breathing, a strong and more flexible body as well as a more calm and relaxed mind. A trial yoga class will be offered at the VCC Meeting Point on 24 February 2016 from 2:30/14:30 – 4pm/16:00.
The lessons given by Lynn Geertsen-Rowe are a combination of different types of Hatha yoga and also integrates different techniques from Pilates, Qigong, Holistic Dance, Energy Medicine, Touch For Health, Brain Gym and other various techniques to warm up the spine and allow the energy to flow more easily through the joints, muscles, organs and body. The class begins with meditation and breathing (pranayama) and flows into easy movements and stretches to activate and loosen the muscles and create more space in the body. This allows the breath to expand and spread more easily throughout the body. This class is suited for all ages and levels.
This will be a trial run and we can speak about desires and needs at the beginning of the class. There may be possibilities for other times or days, but for the moment we will keep this day and time to see how it suits everyone. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring something warm to cover yourself with during the final resting pose (Savasana). Please bring your own yoga mat as we do not have any in the room. If you have a block, strap or ball you are welcome to bring them as well. I can explain how they are used and it may be worthwhile to have them for the class as well as at home. Please bring a towel to roll up for support for the knees if necessary. The cost is 10 Euros per lesson and will be paid in cash directly to Lynn at the beginning of the class. We will also have a register to sign in and give your email and phone number for further email updates, etc.
The most important is to come with an open mind and a smile!! The rest will take care of itself.
